At BEX Group, we have continued to build and strengthen our ESG programme as the business grows.

One of the most significant steps forward has been improving how we measure and track our carbon emissions using the Greenly carbon accounting platform. Better data gives us a clearer picture of our environmental impact and helps us focus our efforts where they can make the biggest difference.

We have now consolidated greenhouse gas reporting across our brands under one shared Group strategy, giving us a complete view of our Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. Our total carbon footprint currently stands at 224 ktCO₂e.

Overcoming the Carbon Footprint Data Collection Challenge

Collecting accurate emissions data remains one of the biggest challenges businesses face on the road to net zero. Over the past year, we have made significant progress in how we capture and report our greenhouse gas emissions across the Group.

We now have full visibility across all three emissions scopes:

  • Scope 1 – 4 ktCO₂e Direct emissions generated by our operations, including fuel combustion and refrigerant leaks.
  • Scope 2 – 83 tCO₂e Indirect emissions from the electricity and energy we consume.
  • Scope 3 – 220 ktCO₂e Indirect emissions across our wider supply chain, including transportation, purchased goods, and emissions linked to sold products.

Having full visibility of our emissions profile gives us a far stronger benchmark and allows us to focus our sustainability efforts where they will have the greatest impact.

Setting Carbon Emissions Reduction Targets

As our reporting has improved, so has our understanding of the challenge ahead. We now have a clearer emissions benchmark, and with that, the ability to set targets grounded in measurable operational change.

We have evolved our sustainability strategy to focus on achieving a realistic and measurable 15% emissions reduction over the next five years. Across BEX Group, we are focusing on several key initiatives:

  • Increasing the use of recycled materials in packaging and products across our brands
  • Reducing emissions linked to last-mile freight
  • Introducing carbon impact considerations into our product policies
  • Continuing to improve the energy efficiency of our solutions

We also recognise the limits of our direct control. Many electricity grids still rely on carbon-based energy sources. That is why we focus on the changes we can influence directly, while working towards longer-term improvements across our operations and supply chain.
